I'm going to try to do some catfishing from the bank on Ray Hubbard tomorrow. I haven't catfished much, the last time I went was on Tawakoni. I really want to land some good sized blue cats soon. Y'all have any tips on decent locations? The 66 bridge seems like it could be a good spot, given the old creeks that ran under there. I'll let y'all know how it goes!

a couple weeks ago my cousin and i went to a spot. if your coming east on 30. exit dalrock. go over the over pass. then take a left, like your getting back on the service road, then take a right on the first street. the road turns into gravel and has some dips so drive slow. the third road to your left will take you to a spot we did good at last time. using chicken liver.

Ray Hubbard is bankfishing challenged due to the act that nearly all the bank is private property.

I guess in my head I am comparing it to lavon where you can walk miles of bank and never trespass.

TRY THE MARINA FISHING BARGES..HARBOR BAY HAS ONE IT GETS A LOT OF PRESSURE WHEN THE CRAPPIE ARE BITING BUT RIGHT NOW PROB NOT TO CROWDED...IT WILL COST A FEW BUCKS BUT IS LIGHTED AND HAS A PLACE TO SET AND RELAX...BEST FISHING RIGHT NOW WOULD PROB BE WHEN A GUIDE COMES IN TO CLEAN FISH AND STARTS TOSSSING IN THE GUTS.. OTHER PLACES TO BANK FISHING PLACES THAT WILL GET YOU IN DEEP WATER IS ALONG THE OLD RAIL ROAD TRACK THAT RUN BESIDE I-30 BETWEEN DALROCK RD. AND ROCKWALL..... MILLER ROAD IN ROWLETT THERES PARKING AND A LOT OF SHORELINE.TERRY PARK OUT OF HEATH IS FISHABLE TO FROM SHORE AND HAS REST ROOM AND WATER FOUNTAINS...I RERLIZE IM A LITTLE LATE RESPONDING BUT MAYBE THIS WILL HELP NEXT TIME OUT.

Here the update, as promised! I got out on the lake right before the rain hit tonight. I first tried the rocky outcrop portion of Elgin Robertson park. I had no luck, and the lightning picked up to the south so I decided to move. I settled on the 66 bridge. I walked beneath the bridge where the creek empties into the lake. The bait fish were tapping the surface. I caught some shad with the cast net (which I need lots of practice with). Ended up catching two flatheads right before 9:00. One was a keeper, one was a touch too small.

You think it's a channel? It looks green like a flathead to me, but I'm by no means an expert.
