I know Daiwa make a small spincast combo that fits in a hard plastic case. I saw them at Angler's Pro Tackle.

I bought that daiwa set up last year. Second time I broke it out a screw came out during a cast and pieces went everywhere a d sank to the bottom.

I have a three piece TFO travel spinning rod that fits nicely in a 3"x30" PVC pipe. It may be a bit bulky for bike riding.

LOl...I bought a Shakespear kit rod and reel from Cabela's..It came with a telescoped ( collapse ) rod and a spinning reel in a plastic case..First off, let me say "I did catch fish with it",but the darn thing fell apart after about the 6th bass I caught hehehehe. The screw in the reel that holds the bell on fell out and all little pieces ( washer, bushings ) went on the ground...Never did find the screw...So I took it back the next day for a refund...Also the little lure trays in the case didnt work too well either..Every time I opened the box all my hooks, lures, fell out..So, long story short...Stay away from that product...I did order a 4 piece spinning rod and reel in a zip up bag..Let u guys know how it turns out when I get it.....OOO, one more thing on that collapsing rod..After a few time of pushing it back in, it wound up coming out the bottom of the rod handle...lol..In my opinion a real P.O.S.!!!

I looked at a number of travel kits, and most just looked cheap. I ended up buying an Okuma Citrix travel rod for under $100 and it's a pretty nice rod for the money. Doesn't come with a reel but I have plenty of spare Curados. It is 4 piece so fits in a handy tube, but you would have to take the reel off. I took it to Calif, and used it on the Delta bass fishing and it held its own.

I've also seen a St.croix Triumph for about the same price. I haven't used one though.

I'm pretty new here, but hope to start contributing a little in the rod/reel section.
