Went fishing this morning and was able to enjoy the bank alone due to the high winds

Still no luck with the shad, Haven't had any luck at either of the lakes i go

Was able to get a 13'' sandie and a couple yellow bass, a drum and a lmb on to the bank. The lmb is 19'' long but very skinny. Not much weight on the fellow, probably 2 pounds max even thou he was very long.

The miss is the largest fish i ever hooked for sure (a 3 pound cat is my pb so not saying much). as I was reeling in, it slammed my bait and started pulling. My 15 bucks catstick combo failed me as the drag wont work. before I could let some line out, heard a pop and the line went slack :-( since it was pretty shallow and from lavon, think it was either a big cat or a big lmb.

Overall always fun out on the lake, but would have been better if I could beat that 3 pound pb thou. Maybe next time

Sounds like a bigger cat to me. At least you caught something.

Sounds like you had a good day. cheers By the way you described your miss I would guess a big Large Mouth Bass. You could also be right on the catfish as well. noidea

Side Note: It is days like this that make you want to go back! fish

On sunday I had a 5 pound catfish slam my spinner bait so hard that I thought it was a bass. They can and will be aggressive.
