1991 Tracker with 40hp Evinrude.
Transome bolts were loose on motor is there a spec as to how tight (torqued)they should be. I seperated the motor from the transome ,cleaned and resealed with Boatlife sealant now need specs. Thanks.

Best bet is to call Tracker Marine and see if they can help. Every hull/motor type/size is different.

I have never seen a torque spec for motor mounting. Now I am going to have to go pull out my Mercury mountng instructions. I would think snug but not so tight that you squeeze all the sealer out. Also seal the bolt threads.

So far I have just tightened them to not snug to let the sealant set some then will tighten more.

Does that tracker have a wooden transom? If so it rotting may be the reason your bolts are loose. I would look into it before putting back together.

I checked the wood I could get to,I was able to pull dry wood from all mounting holes and the sounding test comes back as a solid transome. Thanks for the info just the same.

There is torque specs for mounting the motor or even a jack plate to the transom depending on the boat and model.

Check for the correct specs. Then keep an eye on them often.

Well 55 ft lbs is a little much I could tell the bolts were getting a little tight looked like the inside was dippling a little so I backed off. I am making a load bearing plate as a precaution the square washers Tracker used did not fit flush and were a bit of a angle. I found a Evinrude motor mounting site that states 25-30 ft lbs. this seems more reasonable to me.
