309 flats, pelican island, windsock point. Did you look at those spots?

Fished everyday except the Rainout/Wind on Monday and Thursday and had 75 fish limits on Tuesday and Wednesday. Managed only 37 on Friday and eaked out 40 fish between both boats this morning. Tough as nails most days as we're burning a lot of gas and chasing scattered fish. A little bit of surface feeding each morning, but doesn't last more than 30 minutes. Best bite is being had by the live bait fishermen.
All our fish coming on slabs in depths from 10'-20'. The easy limits of April and May are over for a few days. Hopefully the Summer Top Water bite will kick in gear soon. If I was looking to load the boat, might want to consider another lake for a few days.
Windsock Point is good early AM and then it's hit and miss from then on. Didn't catch a fish off Pelican Island or the Roadbed this week. The Flats is hit and miss with a little bit of deep water (30') bite mid morning.
Good Luck!

Was out there yesterday. Tried Live shad at the hump by the dam for a few hrs. Got one good run. Lost it. The wind wouldn't let us stay in them too well.. It was a brutal day.

Even with live bait it's really tough right now. The bait has become really scattered. Especially good bait. I think once a true summer pattern sets in where we get some consistent hot sunny days things will get better and easier to pattern. On a side note I would like to ask everyone, especially the weekend warriors like myself, to do some studying on white bass vs hybrid ID. I saw a bunch of under hybrids being harvested off of the main lake yesterday. I know people don't take these fish on purpose but they still take them. There are a number of good resources out there to help people ID these fish. Please take a look.

Kubroe, Good point on the undersized Hybrids as we apparently had a great survival rate on last years fingerling stocking! LOTS of 10"-13" Hybrids being caught this year. I talked to the Game Wardens a couple of weeks ago and they have been cutting folks some slack, but are now going to start writing tickets. It's amazing to me the number of folks that don't know the difference. They are similar but the markings are different enough to distinguish between the two. I bet for around a $150 each they'll start to look closer. Good Luck and Good Fishin'!
