Headed there Tuesday. Do y'all think we can find them surfacing?

Put in at Fishermans Point early like around 6:00 or 6:30 and head straight across the lake to the placed where the water gets pumped into the lake. You can't miss it, its a white area alittle passed the dam. There will be alot of boats, don't be shy just get in with them. The school is massive and every one will be catching. Last week we broght in 53 keepers in about 1 hour. We only messured 2 or 3 the rest were big enough to just toss in the wells. You can also go at night I wouldn't get out there before 7:30pm. Give the speed boats time to get out of there, then the frenzy will start. You can use minnows but I use chrome super spots or rattle traps, and alot of times I'll catch when other are not.

I did not see any surfacing but we found a bunch on the hump south of the bridge in 24'. Picked up some hybrids too.

Please go to the waterfall and catch as many sand bass and hybrids as you can ......There are to many in the lake......You can also catch cat fish there on the bottom with shad....If you catch any ditch pickles throw them back...

Where is the waterfall?

All the way across the lake from fisherman's point. just follow the dam and its a little passed the flood gates. It look like a big stair case. You don't have to be right up on it. I like to be about 20 or 30 yards out. There is a current that runs out and it pushes the shad out.

I've never been to this lake. Looked like it's been on fire! With the wind predicting from 10 to 20 from there south how rough can this lake be? I've got 19'deep-v with 150hp. Wondering if it worth the 2hrs drive. Any inputs on the roughness with the wind prediction? Sorry didn't mean to jack your thread. Thank you

It's a very big lake and the wind can make it very choppy. The dam in on the south side of the lake and it may give you some cover from the wind. I have a 14'v hull and I've been tossed around on that lake to the point were I was concerned about safty, but I'm not sure how strong the winds were that day.
As far as driving there I say plan a trip and check it out. I love this lake and can't wait to get back out there. I live in Austin now so it will be a while.

Great Lake well worth the 2 hr drive. Not much if any pleasure boat traffic during the week and the majority of people fishing will help you.

As the summer heats up the water, the bite slows significantly day to day. This morning was really slow for hybrids and the bite on white bass was start and stop. Lots of driving around today to fill the box. Bring a full tank of gas!

The waterfalls are in the northeast corner of the main lake by the floodgates, you can't miss it if it is on.
