Looking to go this Saturday and/or Sunday morning! Trying to figure out whats biting? what they are biting on? and which lake would be better.. Also I plan on doing all bank fishing, so any spots that are accessible with a car are welcome! Thanks!

I haven't had any luck at Lavon this year. in 5 trips only caught a couple channel and a 10'' sandie.
the lake is very low and most of the parks are closed. haven't find a single shad at the lake either.
Never been to cedar creek

I live right by Lavon its been a great catfish lake in my experience and I heard that the crappie are good but I haven't had any luck catching them but thats most likely the fisherman not the fish. Lavon is very low making it tougher to fish from the bank but not impossible and only 2 boat ramps open right now. I don't know anything about cedar creek lake never fished there. You can google fishing cedar creek lake at TPWD and get info on the lake. Good luck.

lavon is solid for cats, crappie and the sandies are waking up too. I would recommend you go to the power plant and fish along from the ramp to the plant. take some waders or boots and get a lil wet. jigs, minnows...throw it out there, you'll catch fish.

Are you wading out and throwing back towards the shore, or getting a little farther out? In other words how deep are you finding the fish?

you can reach them from the shore...fish about 6ft deep with a jig/minnow. but if you can wade out a bit you'll do even better (more options).

Cedar creek is hard to fish from the bank due to almost all the shore line being private property homes and home associations.I would not waste my time with Cedar Creek unless you have a boat.
Lavon, fish the main lake points windy points that go out into the lake..Fish the windy point sides
..sein some ghost minnows and use them or store live minnows in medium size..
You will do way better fishing windy main points at Twak..fish the windy side of points with med live med-large minnows where the drop offs get deep fast.White bass,cats,Hybrids..I would be there very early..You will need to walk way out in the water to get depth and dropoffs..once you locate the fish..you can catch them on gulp live minnows,mepps spinners shad pattern diving baits or flukes.

Lake Waurika in Ok. is on fire from the shore lake points fished the same way...if you know where to go..HUGE Hybrids and Huge white bass use fresh dead shad or live shad..once fish are located..use Thin Finn shad lures in 3" gray shad pattern.White Bass are 16" fish..Just Saying...
