Here is the schedule of our open tournaments this year. We will be fishing Lake Tyler on April 19th at the Hwy 64 ramp at Tyler East from 6:30 to 3:30pm. Just show up at the ramp with your entry fee of $25 per person and you are welcomed to fish with us. Bring a partner and fish with them. Bring a kid and they can fun fish. All events are individual with cash paid back at the ramp. http://www.fishingworld.com/DFWBassmasters/Schedules.tmplIf you would like the opportunity to fish qualifying tournaments that could lead to the BFL All American, Bass Fan Army Weekend Warrior Championship, and FLW Championship, just ask.

Results and news from our April 5th and April 19th tournaments; DFW Bassmasters DFW Bassmasters Results
Page(s): 1 (April 19, 2008 Possum Kingdom, TX)... The DFW Bassmasters held it 3rd bass tournament of 2008 at Possum Kingdom on April 5th, 2008. There is a minimum size limit of 16" for this lake so keeper bass were hard to come by, not to mention the fish that died off a few years ago from the Golden Algae. The winning stringer brought in by Ron Morris was only 2 fish at 6.3 lbs, with Mike Burda in 2nd at 5.68 and Bennie Anderson had one fish at 4.59 lbs which was also big bass of the tournament. The water temperature was running about 60 degrees with winds almost 20mph.
We also held our 4th tournament of the year at Lake Tyler on April 19th. There were many more fish brought to the scales. The weather was from 55 at launch to 75 by mid afternoon with winds about 15 mph and water temperature at about 65 degrees. The winning stringer was brought in by Danny Joiner with 5 fish at 11.25 lbs. He also had big bass at 3.6 lbs. He reported catching the big fish on top-water, however most all other keepers were caught on soft plastics. The 2nd place stringer brought in by Mike Burda weighed 10.63 and he reported catching about 3 limits of keepers but had none over 3 lbs. 3rd place was won by Robert Lane at 9.95 lbs.
Our next event will be the 2nd annual Kids Tournament on May 17 at Joe Pool Lake.
