Mike the best thing to do is saturday when you get there leave a little after daylight and go drive around the bay and watch where other people are fishing and also cruise the protected shorelines during windy conditions and watch for bait see bait theres fish i promise. the glass minnows are in fool swing try small lures till about april

The wind will dictate where to go. If you need to stay protected, go through the cut across from Clark's. Try to follow someone so you stay in the channel. It can get narrow in places. Try to fish at the end of high tide and position where you can fish the flow coming off the flats. You should get some reds that way. Trout can be found in the back bay around Bill Day's Reef or the islands south of there. The channel which leads past Bayucos Island to Saluria Bayou is usually a good place to fish for black drum. Anchor out by the old coast gaurd station and ambush whatever is running the tide. Good luck.

Get live shrimp from the bait stand next to Clark's for red drum and specks. Get some frozen spanish sardines for cut bait for black drum at Speedy Stop in the morning when you get coffee and breakfast tacos. Make sure you eat before you open the spanish sardines. If you can make it out to the big jetty, get some frozen ribbon fish, carolina rig a 3 hook king rig and fish the ribbons on the bottom for big reds. And don't forget to go to Kathy's on Friday for all you can eat fried shrimp and oysters. Good luck.
