Has anyone ever tried using a shad trawl ?
I can't throw a cast(disabled) net so I thought I would ask your opinion before I bought one.

I asked the same question once and had mixed reviews. yes you can catch shad with one but they will probably be dead by the time you get it back in the boat. They are also hard to pull back into the boat. I do not know either of these statements first hand but that is what the feedback was when i asked the question.

Knothead save your money I got one last year and never got anything by the time I got anything in it. I went back to my cast net and got enough shad to go fishing. If you want to try one and come to Tawakoni I will meet you there and let you try it.

Thanks fellers,
I think I'll Save my money and try something else. This forum is really good when it comes to things like this.

Knothead you might look at the perfect circle you install on your cast net. It is easy enough that you can throw it while seated in a chair.
