I just bought an 85 skeeter with a 115 suzuki motor on it. Recently i have had a big problem with the ball pump that primes the fuel line. It is losing its pressure and i am having to pump it full every time I have to start up again. Is this the line, the conection, the gas tank itself, do I need a fuel/water seperator?
It will even lose its speed as im traveling across the lake so I have to reach back and pupm the ball full so I can regain speed.
Please help

i see you are new the the Forum. Welcome to the TFF. you will have more luck if you post this in the Boats/Motors section. how old are the fuel lines and Primer Bulb. it could be just a simple fix. if the bulb and lines are old that may be the problem.

there is no leak in the hose or fittings. One of my gas tanks leaked all the fuel out of a crack in the tank somewhere.I had gas all in my bilge area. I removed the bad tank and have only one tank. The other tank doesnt leak.
I did find a tiny prick in the hose. Gas does not seem to leak out here, so I dunno......
It seems like it is a suction problem. Like all the air and gas is getting sucked out of the pump.
Maybe I should buy a new hose and gas tank. Does the gas hose need a filter on it, cause I dont. Maybe it is clogged.

first unhook the gas line from the tank to the engine and blow air through the line from the engine end to the gas tank end from an air compressor. take a pen and have someone hold the ball valve open on the end of the tank while you blow the air through. if there is anything in the line this will clean it out. then try that. if that does not help. a new gas line and primer blub may help it may not. but if that does not work i can not help anymore. i am giving you the info i know of. but am no Mechanic.
