That Diamond Direct is who our insurance sent us to when my wife lost her ring. I think these guys were the ones. We got a [censored] better stone with the same cut for less, Sent us the new ring within a week. My wife will know them and if I can remember to ask her in the AM I'll get back to you with it. You're looking at color and clarity, That's how they are graded.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Thankfully I established up front that I wouldn’t be investing I diamonds. I’m to poor. Having said that. Many years ago my wife bought herself a “cubic seconya” fake diamond. She has had so many compliments on that ring they can’t be counted. She just tells them what a great husband I am. I promise you this. You would have to physically inspect the ring to know it’s fake and nobody’s going to do that.

DANG that's a lot of advice thanks so much fellows! The company in my OP offers free lifetime regular maintenance and minor repairs, and my brother who got his engagement ring there seems to really like the place. Their prices seem higher than the chain places but maybe the quality is better to.
Thank goodness I don't do this very often lol.

Look into a jeweler in the square in Denton. I sold him a custom piece that belonged to my mother, and he wrote me a check on the spot. It wasn’t cheap either. His store was pretty impressive.

Wife lost a very nice 1.48 carat stone out of her engagement ring. Replaced it with a somewhat larger lab grown that is stunning. We have a jewelry rider on our homeowners policy that covered it. Within 2 months of that incident, we were snorkling in Cozumel and her Rolex filled with salt water. Allstate covered that also to the tune of 10K more than I'd paid for the watch. If you own valuable jewelry and wear it, a jewelry policy is invaluable.

... She doesn't own but three pairs of shoes and only half a master closet worth of clothes, ...
Are you sure this is the right gift for her? If she's not a fancy type lady then she might like something more practical.
