At BPS and Cabellas you can buy "gear guard " which when purchased and registered on line allows the purchaser to return the product within 2 years for ANY REASON and swap out for a new product. Break a rod in a ceiling fan or car door.....makes no difference it's replaced. Decide within 2 years the reel or rod isn't what you thought it was, with gear guard you get the purchase price minus the cost of gear guard applied to a new product and you just pay the difference if its an up grade. The cost of the "gear guard" depends on the cost of item purchased. A carbonlite rod costing $99 and I believe the GG is $20....a Revo S costing $129 and I believe the GG is $25.
