Past 2 weeks, I’ve gone out to WRC about 5 times.
Each time, I end up catching a minimum of about 15+ BIG OL’ gizzard shad.
I see the Asian folk catching the same and a small number of small yellow bass.

Anyone else having the same luck lately?
Haven’t seen ANYONE making major moves on the crappie there lately.

The normal crowds are not there this year. Normally there are 5-10 people a day. There is only 1-4 when I go and no one is catching much. Thowing the net, I have only caught 2 keepers in the net this year. The huge sewage spill might have something to do with it.

the lower intestines of the city of dallas.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Most are just catching them on crappie setups, including myself. They hit just like crappie do, but it’s just a tease as you reel it in just to find out it’s just a STAAAAANKY gizzard shad. However, yes, WRC is known to be a great place to use a cast net.

It’s possible, however, the city mentioned it never actually reached the lower half of the creek, much less the actual lake. I doubt it made it all the way down to Flag Pole Hill. But, who knows...

All I know is the bite has been dead for me there smirk

You showed up late. Winter started early people caught limits month ago. I actually caught 6 keepers. Believe me that is an excellent crappie day for me and my skill level.
