Sorry to make a Gpa post but .....really ?
I paid ~ $2K for a Zenith 25" console tv back in the early 80s . Paid $1300 for my Polaroid 1080p 46" about ten years ago . Latest Walmart ad has 55"ers for less than $400 .
I bought a brand new Silverado in 1980 for <$6K and a new F150 in 1997 for $15K . Y'all seen truck prices lately ?
WTH ?

By your pricing scale on trucks 45-50k is about right. I always buy year old trucks, let someone else take the hit.

But a 3TB external backup drive on a USB3 interface is $59
You couldn't buy a 3TB drive on any interface close to the speed of USB3 for any amount of $$$$$$ 25 years ago.

I bought a printer, monitor, and IBM pc (had 20 mg hard drive and ran on DOS) brand new in 1988 for the student-discounted price of $2,400.

Unions and government regulations are why vehicles are so expensive.
Plus... People are still buying.

I just priced a new 2019 chevy 4x4. Its 13,000 more than the one I bought 2.5 years ago. That's just ridiculous. The new one doesn't do one thing the 2015 didn't. All the features and trim levels exactly the same.

Bassboats aren't really a good comparison because they keep getting bigger, more features and larger engines. You can still get an 18 foot boat with a 150 for near what you could20 years ago. With trucks my 1991 extended cab z71 drove as well and got comparable mileage to my current 2015. Sure there is extra added [censored] like wifi. But who really needs it

But who really needs it IDK about that, I bought a 18ft. Champion with a 150 hp. 1n 1998 for $15,500. I still have it. I bet you couldn't buy one now for that. I know there is a difference in dollars then and now with inflation figured in.

Mine came from Nichols Marine Tulsa. Ordered it......maybe that was the difference. That purchase was the only mistake I've made buying and selling rigs. The only new anything that I will ever buy again is a vehicle for my better half. Found an ole' boy that needs storage for his boat, so I plan to accommodate his needs. One stipulation......must be able to use it when I want. He said yes! I'm glad I get to put my boat hunting to the side for a while. I even cringed at used boat prices that's out there. Maybe I'll change my handle to Red Okie?

I blame credit for a lot of this, I explained it to my brother one day, some people now days dont look at the total price like some of us do, I should him one day what I talking about when we were at a boat dealer and he was asking how some people are buying these boats and I told him to look down at the bottom and theres your answer, monthly payments for 15 YEARS !!!! Or longer, Like he said I can remember when you financed one of 2 years
If it was easy, everyone would do it
