Mostly knee to thigh deep grass potholes and cuts. Reds will be in the clear water trout in the stained and flounder in cuts and ditches. If the wind lays its top water heaven if not 1/8 oz jig head with your favorite plastic gets the job done. You want light action rods and fairly light lines.

Your bass walking top waters and rouge baits work well bass assassin type are good but they'll get torn up quick.

Thanks Pat, any particular color work best . What about the gulp shrimp in new penny. Have always heard it is good. I have a variety of the things you mentioned.

I don't have a fishing tip per se, but if you arrive in Port Mansfield at night go slow and be on the lookout for deer on the roads because they outnumber the human population.

My plastics list is short but works for me.
Norton sand eel tequila and Baffin magic
Hogie super minnow pumpkin and red/white.
1/8 oz Oldham head.
Others might have other opinions but those work for me.

when I went with a friend we used croakers . we park the boat on a sand bar and wade fish. sting ray boots shuffle the feet. use a flora leader 30lb . Throw the crooker out no weight. You can feel it get nervous. then a fish swims of with it. then set the hook. Had a floating bait bucket. Tie stringer with fish to the bait bucket. It was a blast.

Fished down therr last Saturday and the grass made topwaters useless. Maybe you'll have better luck. IslandJim

The real question.
What boat are you going to be in?
If it's not a shallow runner you're going to be limited where you can go.

You're sorta screwed then, you're going to have to stick pretty close to the intercoastal and east cut then. Or run way South to three islands. You can probably run through a lot of area, you just can't stop.
