Red Drum Fishing in North Carolina

Hey guys, I'm going out to Swansboro, NC in early August to fish a little redfish tournament. Problem is, I have never fished for redfish in my life. I spend lots of time bass fishing and I've heard that the tactics are fairly similar. All of the fishing will be in the bays and estuaries.
