About an hours drive south of Brisbane is the Gold Coast. More than just a great tourist destination it has a very wide variety of fish species that can be chased. Within an hours trip from Surfers Paradise the following fish species can be caught: Bass, golden perch, silver perch, cod, saratoga, bream, whiting, flathead, tailor, 3 species of trevally, mangrove jack, giant herring, tarpon, queenfish, jew fish, 5 species of sharks, snapper, pearl perch, 4 species of bill fish, cobia, mackerel, 3 species of tuna, wahoo, dolphin fish and some, so as you can see it is a great spot to fish with it's inshore estuary and offshore environments.
