I hope I'm never that hungry to even think about stabbing one of those with a knife.

Yeah
Buddy invited us for a big fish fry, asked what kind of fish?
Amber Jack!
Heck yeah we’re in.
Big old plate done up, dove in like a starving coyote.
Cat food would have been way better.
Pards got pictures of these amber jacks? Yeah look!

Yep cooler full of cravelle. His dogs wouldn’t even eat it.

Zero reason to filet a Jack unless you need shark bait.

Pound for pound they will fight with the beat of them.

It's too easy to catch great tasting fish in the ocean. I'm sure someone has a method for cleaning tarpon as well, but why?

Yeah, hardheads might taste like momma’s nanner pudding.

I’ll never know.

I've eaten Tarpon balls (not the organ, but a method of cooking, fried chunks of meat) in Costa Rica. They were made from Tarpon that died from being line wrapped, or hit by sharks. They were actually quite good.

As far as Jack Crevalle goes, well - maybe. If I was starving, adrift in a lifeboat. Even THEN, Maybe, just Maybe! - UGH. NASTY!

Had no idea they were edible, worth any kind of reason
I’ve killed a bunch and used some as shark bait.
Had a couple dead ones stab me in the bottom of my feet as well. That’s worse than a live one!

Was on a charter trip recently and we got into them. I wasn't the only person on board who wanted to keep a couple.

You'll never know what a cat moisty tastes like until you try it.

I've actually eaten JC haha... Covered it with lemon juice and onion in the smoker. Tasted like a tender beef fajita, I wouldn't eat it again haha!

I think most know this had nothing to do with your desire to eat one.

Oh goodness. I'm the guy who is willing to eat hardhead catfish and several other so-called 'junk' fish.

But even I gotta pass at trying to eat Jack crevalle . . . again (*ahem*)

You know with a little effort, it's not hard to catch a limit of speckled trout. A bit more effort and you can catch some redfish, another notch up the clue wagon and you can catch the best eating fish in the bay, flounder.

Carving up crevalle or hard heads or skip jack or whatever else nasty thing you catch is something akin to wearing a kick me tshirt.
