Help with inshore rod please! - 10/16/21 11:16 PM

I’m going to the keys this year and will be fishing inshore … have never been there so not sure what I can catch but I’m going to get another stradic fl and a st croix avid inshore … my question is, what size rod and reel should I go with ? I was thinking 7’medium fast and then the 2500-3000 but am not sure what will work best

Been using an st croix avid casting rod (freshwater) for years in the salt, rated 10 to 20 lb test, med power, 7' fast tip.. never used their spinning rods but recently bought an Avid Inshore Casting rod for fishing in the keys and everglades. Lived down there for 30 years and try to go at least once a year. You never know what you'll get into down there but snook, trout, redfish, and tarpon are what most are after inshore, along with bonefish and permit. 7'6' med heavy 10 to 20 lb test along with a 3000 size reel will work great for most everything except the bigger tarpon. If you're free lining live bait under the bridges you'll want much heavier everything.
