Sargent trip...what to expect?

Sargent trip...what to expect? - 09/21/21 01:20 AM

I am taking some family on a guide trip in Sargent and just wondering what we can expect to catch! We would love a mix of rat reds and bulls as well as a box full of specks. Any chance we can load up on some flounder? Any other species we should request to target? We will be there later this week!

Trifecta is good, trout, reds, flounder. Nothing else with the exception of a rare triple tail would add to those three.

The guide should be able to put you on some good fish. If you are staying overnight see if your house has a pier with lights. The homes on the Intercoastal & the homes on Caney Creek have some great night fishing. Light spinning tackle and a supply of crappie size baits on 1/16 (tied double or tandem rigged) should get you some action. Note daily trout but if you're a good flounder fisherman you may find a few.
Tight lines!
