What's your favorite brand of popping cork?

Favorite bait under a popping cork?

Does the brand of popping cork matter?

Just curious. Was watching a video earlier and a guy was using Woodie popping corks. I had never seen them before.

We don't mess with bait, but a 1/8 oldham jig head with a Norton Sand Eel under a mansfield mauler type will flat wear them out.

I have use two cork setups. One with a 4" Alameda Rattlin' Cork/ Cajun Rattler some 20 yrs ago, but lately I just use a 6" Orange/White styrofoam cork slip-cork rigged . Sometimes weighted or plain. Live shrimp for bait.

Two things I look for in a popping cork. One is the size of the cork. I like a smaller profile cork that has less water drag when working it which allows for better lure action IMO. I also like one that has a flexible core wire. Again I believe it give lures a little better action and also gives more flex when fighting a fish.

I think it's also important to have a rod with some backbone. You can work one with a soft rod but you'll lose more fish I believe.
