Try Carolina rigging next time...with an egg weight.
"Like a Boss" ?????
"Like a Boss" in accordance with the promise of Scripture to "rule over the fish of the sea."
I've used Carolina rigging plenty of times for bull redfish and drum. From what I can tell it conveys no advantage as the fish aren't slowed by feeling the sinker on the line. The other problem with Carolina rigs in the strong currents of Louisiana passes they'll pull on that crab and pull lots more line through the egg sinker. I prefer the pyramid sinkers fixed at the top of the leader to keep the crab anchored in the spot I want it rather than letting it move more in the current. Pyramid sinkers also have the advantage of being able to change them out quickly via the snap swivel when needed to go heavier in stronger current conditions.
