The wife and I fished the south Packery Channel Jetty Saturday and Sunday / September 28 & 29th. We caught a few rat reds, a couple of undersized spec, and a few spanish macs. No keepers.
We fished Sat afternoon, and Sunday morning. Sunday being the better day. We didn’t see or catch many mullet Saturday afternoon. But they were there Sunday. A lot of people saying it was odd Saturday that not many mullet on Saturday. The rain must have ran them off to deep water. Sunday nice and sunny. Mullet was plentiful.
We saw a few folks with slot reds and black drum. I was told those were caught near the end of the jetty in the Channel. We didn’t see any bull reds caught. Probably still early. But there were a lot of people fishing.
We fished with live mullet on the bottom. We will be back soon.
