License To Crab Fishing???

Hello Fellow Anglers,

I am confused if you need a salt water license to catch crabs with a string tied to a drumstick off shore. Someone told me you don't need it but I read it said you need it. Which is which? Thank you

You do need a fishing lic. A person is then allowed to set 6 crab traps if they want to.. Any more than that ya gotta have a commercial lic.

You need a saltwater license.
