Wade fishing S Padre Island?

I am down in RGV till Friday and planning on fishing Wednesday afternoon and probably most of the day Thursday. I left the kayak in Austin so plan on doing some wading. I haven’t wade fished the LLM since late 80s in laguna Vista. Back then there was nothing there. I am considering by the causeway island side or just north of the convention center. Are these okay places or should I try somewhere else? Anyone interested in joining me?

Depending on the weather. Deep water is near the causeway. You could also try dolphin cove at the park.
If you don’t mind the drive you can go to port Mansfield. I’ve seen people wading north of the last piers.
Also north of the boat ramp on the road heading to Brownsville
Back in the day you could wade in the port isable side of the old causeway but I think that’s no trespassing area now.

No luck. Fished north side of causeway, made my way to boat channel. A couple of hits on a Rockport rattler with paddle tail but no hookups. Had a big trout blow up on a spook but missed. One other person was wading and three in kayaks but didn’t see anyone catch. Fished from 9:00-1:00 Thursday.

No bueno. Just got here fishing tomorrow at port Mansfield
