Christmas Shpping for Redfish - 12/23/18 02:04 PM
12-22-18 Got to the Sabine Pass boat ramp about 7:00, only 2 boat trailers there. The wind and tide sucked all the water out, almost needed a ladder to get down into the boat from the dock. Nearly a full moon, high pressure, clear blue skies, no water, muddy water, looked like it could be a tough day of fishing? 1st spot, 2nd cast, a 24” Redfish. That was ok, but I really wanted to catch some Speckled Trout I have been hearing about. So, we went looking for some Specks, never got a bite. After a few spots, we found steady Non-stop Redfish action. Not another boat in sight, and we never moved. We stayed in one place and caught 2 limits of Reds by 10:00. By now the wind had picked up pretty good, We had plenty of Redfish, so we decided to find some Flounder in Sabine Pass. It was not long, we started catching Redfish again, but now 2 at a time 28”-30”! By now it was only catch and release, so we had to move away from the Redfish, in search of a Flounder. No luck for Flounder or Specks today, only a boat load of Redfish. Using anything Gulp and live Shrimp, we caught everything close to shore in 2’-3’ of water. Fishing in multiple locations, we caught all our fish in only 2 places. If you find the fish, There is a good chance they are stacked up. Www.luckylindycharters.com
