Suggestions for Surfside this weekend!

Hello all
Was planning a trip to Surfside this weekend and wanted to do some fishing
I will have access to a kayak but I've also never taken it out into the ocean and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to catch anything.
I don't mind beating the bank or taking the yak out
I have basically no experience in saltwater so any and all lure/bait suggestions and locations welcome
