I’m installing live scope black box 8 gauge wire stranded. I called garmin and ask them weather to use solid copper r stranded and they said solid has any body used solid copper???

Nope 10gauge stranded and have had no problems.

You usually use stranded in boats because of the bouncing and the connectors smoosh the stranded wire around them when crimped. It’s really hard to have connections with solid copper, house wiring is solid copper because it never moves. 10g stranded is all you need, maybe if you’re running a fuse box, you might want bigger wire. It’s also challenging to find 8g connectors.

HGoing with 8 gauge stranded for about 12 ‘ black box to starter battery. R u having problem with battery power?

Thank u sir ordered connectors on amazon not any in Austin area. I’m running 8 gauge about 12’ from black box to starter battery. Do u think I will have battery trouble any help greatly appreciated? God bless
