Sonar shore-side power supply?

Sonar shore-side power supply? - 08/25/20 02:48 AM

Before and after my trips I'd like to do route and waypoint management on my Solix 10 while it is home away from my boat. I have a supposed "14V 2.5A" power supply on my desk but my Solix won't boot up when using it.

Does anyone have recommendations for a power supply that can be used to power my sonar at home? Other than another big battery. And I can make custom connectors if needed. The Solix runs on 12-20V DC and specs say it draws 2.5A.

Thanks
Clark

Look into using a scavenged power supply from a desktop computer. They have 12V outputs @ several amps, with low noise. You can probably find some info online for turning it on. (One of the connectors should have leads that can be jumped to turn it on. This may even be marked on the case for the supply.)

I use a similar one, different brand that has the auto receptacle. I have extra power cords with the auto plugs on them:
