Carbon and transducer help - 01/28/20 01:55 PM

A friend of mine is buying a Carbon 12 for his boat. He has an LSS-2 and a PD-WBL in hull. Does he need adapter (9 -7 pin) to plug LSS-2 into unit? Does he use Black connection for the LSS-2? Thanks in advance.

If you look on the back of the Carbon, you will see two connections for sonar. One is a blue 7-pin hook-up which is Channel-1. It is a 7-Pin connector and where 2D sonar transducer goes. If you look at black sonar connector (next to the blue), it should be a 9-pin connector which is Channel-2 on the Carbon. I believe the LSS2 is a 9-pin connector, so it should plug directly into the Channel-2 connection. My suggestion is to purchase the Active Imaging Transducer (replacing the LSS2) if he wants some awesome Side Scan and to take advantage of the Carbon technology install the Active Imaging.
