Lowrance Hook2 5X

Picked one of these up on black Friday sale for a gift. He mainly wants it for GPS as he currently uses his phone. This is the non maps version. Anyone have this unit can tell me how easy the GPS is to see. I have a Helix 10 on my boat but I am blind. Figured it would be better than phone lol

The HOOK2 'x' versions only have a white screen in the GPS mode. This allows you to place a weigh-point and trails on a white screen (plotter). There is NO Mapping on the 'x' series.
