Solix / Mosaic Live question

Solix / Mosaic Live question - 09/06/19 08:09 PM

I have been battling for a month trying to get the Mosaic Live function to work properly on a Solix unit that came on my new boat. Not sure if anyone else is using this feature, but it has potential if they would make it where the saved mosaic files would auto-display like the Lowrance technology auto overlays, but that's for another post.

My main frustration (and I am getting the runaround on with Hummbinbird support on) is when I record a Mosaic live, it records for about 150 yards, and then I start losing pie slice shaped chunks out of that overlay on the screen near the start of my recording. If I stop the recording and save the Mosaic to an SD card, when I reload that card, it has the same chunks of data missing. Surely the buffer in a Solix is larger than 150 hards / 4 minutes worth of recording. Anybody else have this problem? Is there a workaround or is it just busted until Humminbird delivers a software patch?

Support is saying that I might need a Zero Lines card, but that doesnt make sense to me since I am just doing Mosaic recording, not messing with Autochart Pro etc, and I am not even to the save to SD card step yet and I am already losing data out of the internal memory of the unit.

Any words of wisdom appreciated, lots of hours into trying to figure this out and get this thing to work decently until they improve the usability (which I am hopeful they are working on).

When you insert a Zero Line Card, the unit records the Auto Chart Live data directly to the card with no time limit like the 8 hour internal Auto Chart Live memory.

Wayne, it seems like to me that is the case on the Autochart live contour/sonar type recording since you pick the recording location before you start recording. If you are recording bottom structure only with Mosaic live, you appear to record into the units RAM type memory, because you pick where you want to save it after you turn recording off and pick to save the mosaic?

I am hopeful that when I get Autochart Pro figured out (the Lake Images DVD set of videos are brief, too the point, but essential to figuring out Autochart Pro btw, will shave many hours of time off your learning curve), that I can do a number of sonar recordings, update my Zero Lines card, and the side imaging data will be autodisplayed and overlayed like the contour data is. Haven't figured out on a Solix how to get the SI data to pull into Autochart yet, as still struggling to import side imaging files properly. When you put in your Zero Lines Card, the options for Mosaic under AutoChart Live all disappear, so hopefully its automatic and I can keep using Navionics. However, I was on the water yesterday and you are able to save Autochart Live data to the Zero Lines card, but the save Mosaic option under Mosaic Live disappears (so that definitely ain't the answer)
