If I have a Lowrance HDS Live unit what all do I need in order to get the 3D? Do I need just the 3D transducer or the transducer and the module or is the Active Imaging transducer capable of 3D?

You need the module, transducer, ethernet cable. AI is not capable of 3D.
Just order/buy the complete 3D transducer kit. It will come with the Module (black box), Transducer w/mounting bracket, Ethernet Cable.
Like fluker stated the Active Imaging does not have 3D capabilities YET. In the future there may be an AI-3D ducer, but not now.
