Treadmill with iFit that connects to TV

Treadmill with iFit that connects to TV - 02/04/21 08:05 PM

Wife wants a treadmill that can either cast or has an HDMI port that will show the iFit on a TV. She hates looking down at the little 10" screens on the models she's tested. I've looked at Nordictrack and ProForm and talked to their live chat people and have had zero luck. People online say it can be done, but then there are 50/50 conflicting opinions.

Has to have:
Treadmill
iFit
Controlls speed and slope
Somehow connects to a big TV right infront of treadmill.

I think Peloton makes a treadmill now.

When buying a treadmill, always consider the shape and contour of the handrails. After about 3 months it will be a secondary clothes rack, and you want to make sure it will accommodate lots of hangers.

This is what I'm telling her but she won't listen. I don't think I've ever seen my wife run. Apparently she used to run a lot. I think an exercise bike would be a better choice. But, it looks like we'll have a new laundry rack before too long.

We had Ifit on a Proform elliptical that we cast to a tv via wifi through a cell phone. If I remember correctly, the machine connects to the phone via bluetooth and then you cast from the phone to the television. However, depending on the quality of your wifi, there may be a lag and quality issues to the tv. The elliptical has a place to put a small tablet or you can order an attachment. I instead made an attachment. It is located at the top of the machine and allows a better viewing angle. In that scenario, the machine connects to the laptop/tablet via bluetooth and no lag. We were on the Ifit family plan, and I liked it. My last walk was around the pyramids. The machine raises and lowers and increases resistance as you go up and down in elevation. However, my wife didn't use it because she prefers just music, so we dropped it. I may go back to an individual plan.

Haven't bought one yet, I've been trying to see if she keeps asking about one. It's been about a week or so since she's mentioned it... I'm sure we'll end up with the ProForm Pro 9000 whenever that day comes. Didn't know ProForm and Nordictrack are made/owned by the same company. So it makes no sense to me to spend twice as much on the Nordictrack.

We bought a treadmill and an elliptical a few years ago. Within a year the treadmill was sold and we sold the elliptical last year when covid first started. Keep an eye on the used market and you can find something with very minimal use for much less than new.
