Clean Eating

Clean Eating - 01/31/20 10:13 PM

I'm not saying that we don't cheat, but we've finally got used to eating more good stuff than bad....lots of chicken, any kinda fish, and even steak and pork chops, but not as frequent. Here's tonight meal. We've been pounding down the veggies and roasting them in the oven. They come out great. Usually there's leftovers, so it makes a convenient quick and easy microwave meal a day or two later.

Clean eating is the hardest workout I've ever had in my life.

...it's tough!

I'm convinced getting rid of the high fructose corn syrup and excessive sugar clears your head up (not sure if it's one or both). Ever since I cut HFCS and most sugars, my memory is better and I think my brain functions better, meaning clearer and faster.

That's the same kind of meals I eat all the time now. Looks delicious!

I wasn't snacking at all before Corona. Since Corona, I've literally ate the house and anything in it. We're going back to clean eating, started this week. Gonna curtail the drinking, too. That's prolly been the biggest culprit. We have been drinking and then eating later than normal. When I'm tipsy, I eat way more than I should. That blows everything out the window for me. I'm getting back on the 16hr intermittent fasting. No food between 7pm and 11am.

Here's some more clean eating...…..It's not that hard. The IPA is the difficult part.

Yes, Kelly. I have. I love them, too. They're better halved , roasted with salt and pepper with a thin coat of balsamic vinaigrette drizzle. Takes away the clean eating thing but oh so good! Leave the drizzle out if you can... bang

I'm trying. Cutting out the bread, fried foods. Trying more steamed and grilled veggies. Also unsweet tea, black coffee and that clear liquid that comes out the faucet.
I'm trying not to weigh. gonna see if a I see and feel a difference first.

I concur

January of this year quit eating or drinking anything with sugar or HFCS and eat very very very little carbs. Mind is clear and feel better than I have felt in years.

Also I have noticed since my body now burns fat instead of carbs/sugar for energy, I don't get real cranky when I am hungry.

Remove the carrots and Onions, high in sugar

Cruciferous Veggies are the way to go.

Tom, one thing the wife have tried with cleaning up our eating is limiting the hours we eat. We've gone from an 8 hour window to a 6 hour window. It was tough but the pounds really started coming off when we stayed on it correctly. This was before the crapola hit and I've struggled with stating on this while working in the heat of summer, but it makes a difference.

Our plan had us eating from 12 noon to 6pm and no snacking in between. Lunch meal and then supper before 6pm. It's amazing the weight I lost once we got on this plan. I was up to 245 at the start of 2020 and had my yearly check up with my aorta specialist for my stent on June 8. Weight was 218. We went on a family trip in mid July and I know I gained 10 pounds easily. We are back on it now because I liked how I felt at the lower weight. I would like to see myself at 200 by Thanksgiving.

You looked fit the other day when we were working at your place.

Haha, bro.....still working out but ever since covid, I've got away from the intermittent fasting. If you stick with the IF, guaranteed, the weight will come off. I've been eating and drinking way too much as of late. I've told myself I'll get back into it when this thing is over, but will it ever end? Hang in there and keep pushing. You may help motivate me, too.
