Yamaha or Mercury

I am buying a 20 ft Basscat. If you had a choice between a 250 Yamaha vs a Mercury what would you recommend and why? Currently there is a shortage of available Yamahas. I may be willing to wait a while longer if Yamaha reliability is best.
