Any of y’all been to Farmersville South Lake yet this year? I’m wondering what the water level and temp are.

Last night. Water is around 60* and the entire spillway is under water, 18FOW at the dam, bout 3ft from going over it. Seeing the spillway on down imagine was cool. Ramp and bench there all way under water too but launching kayak I just backed right up the the new waterline and got it. 2" of visibility and tons of debris... It was like fishing in soup. Really hoped black horny toad + full moon would have some luck, but had equipment failure on that rod after not having any luck and just putzed around in the dark with a black/blue lizard on a t rig looking for anything actively feeding but beaver kept me from the shallows in the flooded trees where I wanted to be. They were VERY active and VERY curious about my hobie revo 11, and I was VERY cautious with my flashlight. If I got closer than 15-20ft of a shore line, I had one swimming parallel between the shore and me glaring its beady eyes at me in the dark. The first one belly flopped in and I thought it was just a giant nutria, until I put my spot light on it and it rolled forward and did a huge tail slap to let me know it wanted nothing to do with me. Had fun exploring but the fishing was uneventful. Thats what changed my plans for the morning from there to Lewisville, but then I regretfully passed on heading put again in the AM after being out too late last night and weather man says tomorrow I'll get rained on. Hoping he's wrong and leaving the kayak loaded and hitting Stewart Creek on Lewisville in the morning, its the only place local that ever fishes really well for me in these flood waters.

Going to be regretting not making the drive at 6am to fish for 2-3hrs this morning all week if I cant get out tomorrow... That was my first outting of 18 and I need to get get bit still! Tight lines friend!
