Live bait availability - 03/16/22 01:12 AM
What kind of live bait can I expect to find during first week of April in the Freeport and Galveston areas? What’s hard to get? What’s easy? Fiddlers, mullet, crabs, shrimp, croakers, sand fleas, etc… I plan to fish inshore and close offshore. Jetties for sure.

I wasn't clear but I did mean at the local bait stores. However, I hope to be able to catch as much bait on my own. Any tips on finding mullet and shrimp in early April? What's the natural trend for their spring migrations?

There should be plenty of Mullet in the surf by then-Pretty much any runoff ditch in those areas should have something too.

Supply can be hit or miss depending at exactly where you are. Weekend mornings can have supply issues.
