Pics of your surf crimped rigs - 05/31/20 02:20 AM

Hello all,
I have ordered equipment to make my own crimped saltwater rigs for bull reds and sharks. I have seen set1ups with the weight on bottom and the hook slides above, and vice-versa with the weight in the middle to slide and th hook trailing similar to a Carolina rig. I will be fishing off the piers in Galveston and have rods that can send it about 50-60 yards. Please post pics of your rigs you make and discuss pros and cons of each please. This will be my 6th trip down there and looking for my first bull red. Caught a 38” shark last trip.

1st one is 80# mono with double drop 7/0 circle hooks sinker goes on the bottom. usually a 4oz spider weight
2nd one is 100# mono with slide and 8/0 circle hook. sinker is in the middle hook on the bottom

We fish the surf at Matagorda Use the 1st one probably 90 percent of the time.
