FYI TC Dike..... - 02/20/20 04:22 AM

Just as a reminder..starting March 1st-Nov.1st, the City will be charging $5 to get on the Dike. This is Fri-Sunday and Holidays. TC residents do not pay to get on.Only Outsiders!
To prove you are a TC resident, the City will issue a sticker to place on their windshields. The fees are used to maintain the entire Dike, it's road, the beaches, trash pickup, piers, and boat ramps. IMO...the City has done a darn good job of this. My main concern is there are people that continue to throw their trash on the grounds even tho there are BLUE trash cans along the roadway. The speed limit is still 25 mph along the 5 1/4 mile stretch. There are no bait camps on the Dike since "IKE" hit. There are a couple of bait and tackle places at the base of the Dike. Please be aware of the NO Swimming signs....Have fun and stay safe. fish

You have to sign up for City Water and Garbage services etc. One can get onto the Dike PRIOR to 6am and get on free but if you leave and come back...you will have to pay. One question was asked was..Can someone drive onto the Levee (Skyline Dr.) w/o paying. According to the City they say no as the fee collection booth is stationed prior to that entrance. That info is false bc the collection station is on the OTHER SIDE of the Levee next to the First Ladies Pavilion.
