St Martin DIY Fishing

Has anyone fished St Martin from shore or wading? My cruise is stopping there in April. I have heard the tarpon and snook fishing can be great. Looking for any information..locations, lures eat. Not opposed to a guide but the only shore based guide I've found doesn't answer inquiries. Any info will be appreciated?

Also going to St Thomas..once again any info would be appreciated.
