What are the effects of wind direction in the Port Aransas area? A previous thread discussed the S wind and high waves, but what happens when she blows out of the N or NE? I ask this since that seems to be the forecast for all of next week.

North/Northeast will flatten the surf, and drop water levels.

Does that mean bad surf and jetty fishing?

No the opposite. Flat surf is clear and much better for catching.
Be aware of the northern fronts in the winter. The north wind can drive the seas up very quickly when they come through. Once the front passes the seas will fall quickly for some fantastic fishing.
Yeah.. NE will drive tide heights up.. North and North West will reduce tide height. Surf conditions vary .. N and NW might be flat and E and NE can still be considerable surf.
