Mangrove Snapper

Is there any way to increase the odds of catching them from shore? I fish jetties, piers, the surf, but don't wade.

JMO, but to get mangroves of any size you will need a boat.
otherwise anywhere there's sheepheads, there's probably a mangrove or 2.

Small live bait fish not shrimp.

These fish have GOOD EYES. You NEED to use Fluorcarbon leader line. A clear leader in the water for these fish is a MUST. Offshore at least 6 ft. or in deep waters.

we caught a couple 10-11" on the drop off in the Galveston channel last week
