Well that's not good.

Yesterday was beautiful so loaded up the gear and dog and headed to the nearby pond only to find it was drained! A local said they were deepening it to provide adequate flood control, but even if it fills back up it's ruined as a fishery.

That is a totally valid reason for getting skunked.
