Does viewing a frozen pond tell you anything useful about it?

Does viewing a frozen pond tell you anything useful about it? - 02/18/21 09:40 PM

My favorite pond is frozen and I took a look at it just to see it and noticed that different areas the ice looked thicker. I took a few pictures and I was wondering if that has to do with the water depth. I reminded me of a topo map.

that's also where all of the fish are currently at ... the dark spots

Fish hold in deeper water when the top freezes. Should have gone ice fishing.

Shallow end warms up faster. Come spawn time I know where I’ll be fishing!
