We fished the "lock&dam" many years ago and the river always had that sewer plant treated water smell to it. The warmer it got the worse the smell.. I've been a couple of times more recently but just don't like the color of that river along that section. I can remember a January 1980 trip down there when you could drive back along the river through the mud. We started fishing where the truck veered off the road and picked a parking spot itself. Steep banks and mud go well together.. We filled two stringers that day that we could barely get back up to the truck and cleaned fish for seemed like forever.. Twenty year old me did that stuff all the time.. Good times for sure...
My little green Datsun pickup was covered with black mud from tip to tail as were we.. I had just paid $120.00 for a very special wax sealant polish job that washed loose with the mud the next day.. live and learn..
