Swivels and Snaps

Swivels and Snaps - 05/10/20 02:56 PM

I did a quick search, but I did not find a previous topic.

Do you use swivels or snaps with any or some of your lures?

Specifics, especially if you are passionate about your answers either way?

Addendum: The attached photo is not my hand!

...thanks

Snaps for everything! I change lures, jigs and hooks often so snaps 100% of the time for me

I admit tying knots, and tying them with some semblance of "speed" has my my "thorn in the side."

I know I just need to practice more. Therefore, I've relied on snaps for ease.

It's time to start practicing on knots, but I will probably still used snaps/swivels at times.

Snaps on spinners doesn't work too well. The snap slides.

I use them occasionally, but won't use the ones pictured because they don't lock. Learned the hard way the value of a locking snap when a big one pulled out that straight shank.

For the most part, I don’t personally use them as I think it takes away from the natural presentation of the lure. About the only time I will use some sort of snap is with a blade bait.

I generally tie stick baits, crank baits and spinner baits. I use swivels on in-line spinners.
