Is bank fishing allowed at any of the North Texas Power Plant Lakes ? Welsh, Monticello, Squaw Creek. Martin Creek. I'm particularly speaking of bass fishing

Squaw Creek has several good areas to bank fish. I think they charge $5 for access

Martin Creek has a state park that has a lot of bank fishing and a fishing pier. You can also fish off the side of the road but otherwise it's all private property.

Thanks for the replies. My brother and I are on Social Security and we had to sell our boat for financial reasons. We're going stir crazy trying to get back to fishing

Squaw creek has good bank fishing for catfish, tilapia, drum, bass, and carp. Like any lake it can be hit or miss depending on weather and temperatures in the lake. They are only open for bank fishing Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday till 4 pm. You do not need to go to a hot water lake to bank fish in the winter. Most lakes have good winter bank fishing. In addition, you can go after stocked trout.

The trout fishing mentioned above would be a blast. Here's a link to the rivers, lakes and ponds that have been stocked....https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/management/stocking/trout_stocking.phtml

At Martin Creek I have anchored in the discharge area and tore 'em up on worms at times during the winter. Warm water seems to attract baitfish and bass.
