Fishing like it is supposed to be

My son and I have been doing some Google Earth fishing this summer and yesterday evening we ended up on a retention pond behind an apartment complex in Round Rock that he used to live in. Water was clear and we had a blast. Nothing large but we caught 20+ LMB each not to mention the 8-9" brim. While we caught some on small spinners the majority were caught on Baitfish colored flukes fished with a pegged 1/32 oz. weight. What made it great was when a Mom brought her two kids out to watch us catch fish. We ended up working with them to show them how to cast, feel the bite and set the hook. My young lady managed to hook and land 4 LMB while the young man with my son was able to land 3 LMB and 3 huge brim. Everyone had a great time until Mom told them that they would not be allowed to enjoy the fruits of their labor for dinner. We explained the concept of catch and release but I think they were more of the catch and consume mind set. Hopefully two new anglers have been added to our city.

Great job on taking the time to help young anglers to fish. Adding anglers to the sport will keep the sport alive for years to come.
